Although the name remains the same, the scope of duties may vary depending on the business. Therefore, the candidate should look not only at the title, but also at the written job description and shift conditions.
Core responsibilities
Welcoming, reservation or table information tracking, directing guests to the relevant department and communicating with the service team are included in most advertisements. In some businesses, explaining the event program, establishing basic communication with foreign guests, transferring special requests to the responsible person, or receiving feedback at check-out may also be added to the task. If order taking, cash register or stage support is expected, this needs to be clearly stated in advance.

Qualities sought in the candidate

If you have to stand for long periods of time, work an evening shift or have a busy weekend, realistically evaluate your physical and time availability. Foreign language, computer use or previous customer service experience is an advantage in some businesses; The conditions of every advertisement are not the same.
Clarify working conditions in writing
During the interview, ask about location, shift hours, break, weekly leave, trial period, payment method and payment date. Understand the calculation by which the “daily” or “premium” rate is determined. If transportation support or accommodation is provided, find out who, where and under what rules it is provided. Accommodation should not be left as a vague promise that replaces wages.
Preparation for the interview
Prepare a brief introduction in which you can explain yourself in two minutes: what city you are in, what hours you can work, your communications or sales experience, and why you are interested in this position. If you have no experience, give an example from school, organization, volunteering or teamwork. If a photo or video is requested, ask for information about its intended use and who will access it.
