How should performing artists take advantage of opportunities?

Job opportunities for performing artists vary depending on the type of performance, program flow, rehearsal needs and expectations of the business. Repertoire, costume, stage time and technical needs for sub-roles such as soloist, dancer and belly dancer should be discussed separately.
Prepare your portfolio
Share your current photos, short performance videos, repertoire or stage experience regularly. Make sure the content is yours and the purpose of sharing is clear.
If your experience is limited, describe realistically examples of training, rehearsals, amateur performances, or teamwork.
Program and rehearsal conditions
Stage time and total shift may not be the same. Ask about preparation, rehearsal, sound check and post-event time.
The content of the show, clothing, stage boundaries, technical equipment and repertoire expectations must be clarified in writing.
Payment and transportation
Payment method, date, whether it is calculated per performance or per shift, and any deductions should be asked in advance.
For out-of-town assignments, transportation, accommodation, return and duration of duty are separate headings.
