How to prepare a job application photo?
A guide to evaluating currentness, light, framing, file security and sharing purpose when preparing a job application photo.
The job application photo must be current, yours, understandable and suitable for the role you are applying for. An expensive shoot is not necessary; Clean framing, sufficient light, natural appearance and safe sharing of the file are more important for most applications.
Basic photography standard
Choose a current photo where your face and general appearance are clear, without excessive filters. Avoid images that are too dark, blurry, or indistinguishable from the group.
Clothing and background can be plain and appropriate to the seriousness of the position you are interested in.
Material by position
For performing arts, in addition to photographs, a short performance video or repertoire information may be requested. In guest relations and reception duties, working availability is as important as communication and appearance.
Photography alone is not proof of experience or job suitability.
File and personal data security
Send the photo for reference purposes only and on trusted channel. Do not share anyone else's images, identity documents or unnecessary official documents.
Ask who will see the image, how long it will be kept, and whether candidate pool consent is separate.
before sending
Check that the file has been opened, is up to date, and has been sent to the correct person. Also check the file size as the BAX Career form has an image upload limit.
- Is the photo up to date?
- Is the intended use of the image clear?
- Is a video or portfolio required for the position?
