What to ask when evaluating a residential job offer?

Guide for evaluating accommodation type, wage, sharing, transportation, duration and security conditions in accommodation jobs.

Accommodated work is a working model in which an accommodation option is offered to the candidate during the work period; However, the location, duration, sharing pattern and cost of each offer may differ. Do not accept the word accommodation alone as sufficient information.

Find out the type of accommodation

There may be different options such as hotel, apartment, hostel or staff house. You should ask about the sharing of the room, its address, entry-exit rules and who runs it.

If accommodation is available, clarify in writing whether it is free or whether there is a fee or deduction.

Working and accommodation relationship

Accommodation may only be offered for a specific working period or shift pattern. Ask what the accommodations will be when the job ends or the candidate leaves.

Also confirm the transportation between the workplace and the accommodation, the return after the night shift, and the route of the shuttle, if any.

Security and personal boundaries

The address, responsible person and the number to be reached in case of emergency should be known. Requests for personal documents or money cannot be justified by the promise of accommodation.

If the accommodation conditions are not suitable, indicate this before applying; Don't treat it as an option you have to accept.

  • What is the address and sharing scheme?
  • Are there any fees or deductions for accommodation?
  • How is transportation provided after shift?

final decision

Compare accommodation conditions with role, payment and working time. At BAX Career it is clearly stated that accommodation opportunities are not the same for every position.

Conditions may vary depending on the posting, business and working model. Before making a decision, confirm the duties, hours, payment, transportation and accommodation together.
